Richard, Boy, and I took a moment to enjoy ourselves this evening at the Star Wars: The Last Jedi Fan Event. At 6:00 PM, the movie started with a six minute intro that started with The Last Jedi writer and director, Rian Johnson, talking to the super fans who attended this event. Then John Williams, composer of the music for all the Star Wars movies, appeared to talk about the music.
We were treated to clips of the orchestra playing the music. Listening to and enjoying the musical compositions is fun and familiar for so many of us. Watching musicians actually playing the songs was such an added treat. Wow. I heard the music like I do not think I ever had before.
The six minute intro was a treat. There was mention of Episode IX, although it was not much beyond a mention. Will it be made? Who knows?
Now on to the movie. Let me simply say that, as usual, Star Wars does not disappoint! I am not going to share any spoilers because the movie seriously just came out. That said….
My sister-in-law asked me if The Last Jedi was a recreation of a previous Star Wars movie. No. There are old story lines continued. There are new story lines. There are beloved favorites. There are new characters. There are moments that tug on your heart strings. There are shocking surprises. There are two hours and thirty-three minutes of edge of your seat, what will happen next moments.
My family very much enjoyed this movie. I will admit that I felt for Ben. That is all that I will say on that.
Now for the giveaway! Folks who attended the Star Wars: The Last Jedi Fan Event were given a pack of collectible Star Wars trading cards. We have three packs of these to share with three Star Wars fans who missed the Fan Event and would like to have these cards. The picture may not be pretty, yet I did not open the plastic wrapper.
Entering is simple. There are three packs of cards, so we will do three giveaways.
1. When you like the Facebook page and comment on this post.
2. When you follow us on Instagram and comment on this post.
3. Comment on this blog post and tell us why you would like a set of these cards.
Now for the boring words: We will use an online randomizer to choose two different folks who will receive these, one who participated on Facebook and one who participated on Instagram. For the third option, we will either pick our choice of the comments or use a randomizer. This will run for one week, and then the winners will be announced on Facebook and Instagram on Friday. If your name s chosen, you will have seventy-two hours to claim your gift. After that, you forfeit the gift, and we will choose new names.
Are you planning to go see this movie? Are you excited? Do you have any fan theories?
